The Patient Care Aide (PCA) serves as a vital extension of the nursing team, working under the direction of the RN or LPN to deliver compassionate, direct patient care. This role is designed for individuals who thrive in a rapidly changing environment and possess the ability to connect with patients from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. You will be responsible for meeting the psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and physical needs of patients across all age groups.
In this position, you will assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges while providing clear explanations to patients and families regarding care procedures. The role demands flexibility and the ability to function effectively under stress, including responding to emergencies and physically distressful situations. You will also ensure all documentation meets current standards and policies while demonstrating accountability for the appropriate utilization of resources.
