As a General Education or Exceptional Children teacher, you will be a licensed and highly qualified professional responsible for shaping the educational journey of students in grades 5 through 8. This role is central to fostering a classroom culture rooted in the Responsive Classroom approach, where students learn to care for one another and build positive relationships through language and behavior.
In this position, you will guide the learning process by implementing the ACS curriculum and instructional goals. Your day involves planning engaging programs of study that align with administrative goals while addressing the individual needs, interests, and abilities of your students. You will employ a variety of instructional techniques and media, incorporating Project Based Learning to support grade-level projects. Beyond instruction, you will maintain a clean and organized classroom, manage student behavior fairly, and ensure accurate record-keeping in compliance with legal and administrative regulations.
Candidates must hold a minimum Bachelor of Arts or Science in Education or a related field of instruction and possess an NC Certification/Teaching License, or the ability to obtain one. The selection process involves reviewing qualifications to ensure alignment with our licensing requirements and commitment to the school's philosophy of education.
