As an Educational Support Professional (Paraprofessional) at Howbert Elementary School, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, behavioral, and personal needs of children with special needs. Working under the direction of a certified teacher, you will help create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that upholds school rules and fosters a conducive atmosphere for learning.
This position is designed to assist Special Education and Regular Education teachers in meeting the diverse needs of students. Your day-to-day responsibilities include providing instructional support, supervising students in classrooms, playgrounds, and lunchrooms, and assisting with personal hygiene care, including toileting and diapering. You will also ensure the proper care of classroom materials and maintain strict confidentiality regarding student and staff records.
You will be a key member of the Howbert Elementary School team, reporting directly to an assigned teacher or supervisor. Success in this role requires the ability to work cooperatively with district employees, develop professional working relationships, and adhere to the same ethical codes as all district staff. Your contributions will directly impact the daily lives and educational progress of students requiring specialized support.
