The Paraeducator Pre-K position serves as an essential partner to the Pre-K teacher, dedicated to fostering a safe, engaging, and developmentally rich environment for young learners. This role is pivotal in supporting the social, cognitive, physical, and emotional growth of children through direct interaction and classroom assistance.
In this capacity, you will be the eyes and hands of the teacher, supervising students across various school settings and engaging in positive, meaningful interactions throughout the day. Your day-to-day involves guiding children through essential routines, from snacks and meals to self-care activities like toileting and diapering, ensuring a nurturing atmosphere that encourages good habits. You will assist in preparing instructional materials, managing classroom routines, and implementing behavior plans under the teacher's direction, all while actively promoting student engagement and developmentally appropriate practices.
Collaboration is at the heart of this position. You will work closely with the Pre-K team, communicate with parents as needed, and support staff in data collection. The role requires adaptability, as you may assist with school activities both on and off campus and utilize instructional technology such as Clear Touch displays, SMART Boards, and iPads in compliance with district guidelines.

Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent and possess a minimum of 48 accredited college credits (verified by transcript) or pass a state-approved assessment. An Associate's Degree in Early Childhood is preferred. All successful candidates must pass a Physical Capacity Profile (PCP) test to ensure they can meet the physical demands of the role, which include lifting, carrying, and reacting to emergency situations.
