About the Role
We are seeking experienced CDL-A Owner Operator Drivers across the United States to join our network as independent contractors. This role is ideal for business-minded drivers seeking higher earnings potential and the flexibility of running their own operation. As a partner with UACL, you will have access to a robust agent base of 300+ freight agents nationwide, consistent freight opportunities, and top-tier operational support.
You will operate a commercial vehicle in accordance with DOT regulations, planning routes to minimize empty miles and maximize fuel efficiency. The position requires maintaining regular communication with UACL agents for load alerts and scheduling, ensuring freight is properly handled, and utilizing our technology tools for load management and documentation. You will represent UACL with professionalism at pickup and delivery locations, building strong working relationships with customers, agents, and operations staff.
Compensation & Benefits
Our compensation structure is designed to maximize your earnings potential. In the Van Division, you can earn 67% of linehaul if renting a van trailer from UACL, with the option to switch to a weekly flat trailer rental rate to increase your share to 75% of linehaul. Flatbed Division drivers earn 75% of linehaul, with weekly flat rate trailer rental available if you do not own a flatbed. Actual pay-per-mile and weekly gross earnings vary based on customers, freight lanes, and driver preference (regional, OTR, dedicated, etc.).
We offer a $5,000 sign-on bonus paid to the truck. Additional perks include 24/7 operations and road service support, the U-Save Driver Discount Program, hotel savings, cell phone plan discounts, fuel, maintenance, and retail perks, competitive insurance programs, and an available plates program. We also provide an online orientation for fast onboarding.
Hiring Process
To join our team, you must possess a valid CDL-A and own or lease a truck suitable for over-the-road operation. Candidates must meet all DOT and FMCSA qualifications and maintain a strong safety record. We look for drivers with a business-minded approach to managing their operation. Once selected, you will complete our online orientation to begin your journey with UACL Logistics.
