Allegheny Health Network (AHN) is a blended healthcare organization that has provided exceptional patient care for over a century. Our mission is to forge innovative solutions and key partnerships to transform the health experience for our customers. The network spans 14 hospitals, over 250 healthcare facilities, and employs more than 3,000 physicians, ensuring top-notch care is available close to home.
The AHN Women's Institute delivers women-centric care at every stage of life, from the first pelvic exam through menopause. Our expert team prioritizes clinical excellence combined with empathy and compassion. We are routinely recognized for excellence in care, with West Penn Hospital named a U.S. News and World Report Top Ranked Hospital for Obstetrics and Gynecology three years in a row.
Our multidisciplinary team supports robust programs in maternal fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology, urogynecology, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and reproductive medicine. Uniquely, we offer care for women experiencing mental health challenges through the Alexis D'Achille Center for Perinatal Mental Health and Women's Behavioral Health Programs. Additional notable programs include CenteringPregnancy®, the Perinatal Hope Program for substance use disorder in pregnancy, Olivia's Angels Perinatal Palliative Care Program, midlife care services, the Cardio Obstetrics Clinic, and an OB-GYN Mobile Clinic.
OB-GYNs at AHN work exclusively out of one hospital within our system of five labor and delivery facilities, eliminating the need for privileges at all locations. We are supported by physician assistants providing 24/7 coverage on labor and delivery across all hospitals, and we offer numerous teaching opportunities through our student clerkship and medical residency programs.
