The Nurse Professional Development Specialist (NPD) serves as a Registered Nurse and Educator with an advanced nursing degree, acting as a vital bridge between academic theory and clinical practice. This role is dedicated to the sciences of nursing, technology, research, and evidence-based practice. The NPD Specialist leverages expertise in adult learning principles, leadership, and communication to create relevant teaching strategies that drive organizational success.
In this position, you will function as a learning facilitator, change agent, and mentor. You will build the infrastructure for lifelong learning by analyzing competency data to identify practice gaps and developing educational programs that achieve patient-oriented outcomes. As a partner for practice transitions, you will manage the seamless movement of staff across clinical settings and bridge the gap between academia and service. You will also champion scientific inquiry, utilizing research to implement performance improvement activities and disseminate new knowledge to the global nursing community.
