About the Role
The Inpatient Head & Neck Surgical Oncology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) serves as a central pillar in the care of hospitalized patients on the Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery service. Primarily assigned to a stepdown unit, this role delivers high-acuity inpatient care for patients with head and neck cancer, managing complex postoperative needs following oncologic resections, microvascular reconstruction, tracheostomy, and enteral access procedures.
This position offers a unique opportunity to practice at the top of licensure within a collaborative academic surgical oncology environment. The role places a strong emphasis on clinical excellence, ensuring continuity of care while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. A key component of the position involves the education of residents, medical students, nursing staff, and patients, bridging the gap between advanced clinical practice and academic mentorship.
Team and Environment
You will join the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), an institution dedicated to advancing medical knowledge and patient care. The team consists of energetic and enthusiastic individuals committed to serving a diverse patient population ranging from adolescents to adults with complex surgical needs. As an APP, you will work under the supervision of a Primary Supervising/Collaborating Physician employed by MUSC, ensuring a supportive framework for professional growth and clinical decision-making.

Requirements
