About the Role
The Nurse Intern serves as a vital support to patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). This position is designed to foster a therapeutic environment while emphasizing hands-on learning and collaboration with the broader healthcare team. The primary goal is to provide safe, compassionate, and organized care that enhances the patient experience and actively contributes to the healing process.
In this role, you will engage in essential care tasks ranging from vital sign monitoring and hygiene assistance to patient comfort measures. You will be an active participant in bedside shift reports, communicating effectively with the care team to report changes in patient conditions. The position offers a unique opportunity to develop clinical skills by applying evidence-based practices, seeking feedback, and asking questions under the guidance of experienced nurses.
Beyond direct patient interaction, the Nurse Intern is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment, ensuring patient rooms and shared workspaces meet safety and compliance standards. You will assist with basic equipment maintenance and perform hourly rounding to foster purposeful patient interactions. Upholding excellent customer service relations with patients, families, and internal departments is central to the daily workflow, as is the accurate and timely documentation of all tasks and observations.
