We are seeking a board-eligible or board-certified General Cardiologist to join the Providence Hood River Heart Clinic. This role offers a unique opportunity to practice in a close-knit community with exceptional access to outdoor recreation and natural beauty, while remaining connected to a world-class Heart Institute.
You will primarily work in a busy outpatient clinic setting, overseeing outpatient hospital procedures at the Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital, a 25-bed facility with an active medical staff of more than 160 providers. The practice includes an established General Cardiologist and experienced support staff, allowing you to work closely with a large, collaborative group of cardiologists and cardiac and vascular surgeons based in Portland, as well as a multi-specialty provider group in Hood River. While the position is mostly clinic-based, there is an opportunity to blend outpatient work with an inpatient call rotation at the Providence Heart Institute in Portland by request.
Hood River is a charming, growing community of 6,000 located sixty miles east of Portland in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. Named for its proximity to the Columbia River and Mount Hood, the area is known for superb windsurfing, hiking, skiing, biking, and fishing. Every summer, thousands visit to experience the "Fruit Loop," featuring local wines, apples, berries, ciders, vegetables, cherries, pears, and lavender fields in the hills and valleys above the river.
New graduates and clinicians across all experience levels are encouraged to apply. As a non-profit organization, Providence qualifies for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.
Providence is an Equal Opportunity Employer, considering qualified applicants regardless of background, including disability and veteran status.
