HCA Healthcare is committed to the growth and development of its future nurses. Recognized as one of the World's Most Ethical Companies® by the Ethisphere Institute more than ten times, the organization spent an estimated $3.7 billion on charitable care, uninsured discounts, and other uncompensated expenses in recent years. Guided by the philosophy of Dr. Thomas Frist, Sr., "Bricks and mortar do not make a hospital. People do," HCA Healthcare strives to unlock the potential of its colleagues through a culture dedicated to personal growth and satisfaction.
Transylvania Regional Hospital is part of this network, offering a supportive environment where you come first. The hospital is part of Mission Health, an operating division of HCA Healthcare, which serves as the regional tertiary and quaternary care center in Western North Carolina. While the specific residency program is hosted at Transylvania, it leverages the broader resources of a system that includes Mission Hospital, a Magnet® designated hospital for nursing excellence and the region's only trauma center and children's hospital.
The HCA Healthcare Residency Program is a year-long initiative designed to bridge the gap between academic study and professional practice. As a Resident Graduate Nurse, you will be surrounded by a supportive community of nurse educators, experienced nurses, and fellow residents. This program promotes learning, clinical application, and socialization, shepherding you through the transition from student nurse to registered nurse.
The program provides the tools necessary to succeed in today's hospital environment through a formalized series of learning experiences. You will engage in advanced clinical training in a specialty area, attend monthly educational sessions, and participate in preceptorship training with a facility preceptor. The curriculum includes measurement and evaluation of skills through hands-on simulations, mentoring from experienced nurse leaders, and collaboration on an evidence-based practice project.
In this role, you will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care consistent with the scope and standards of practice for your state and specialty. Working collaboratively with medical providers and the care team, you will provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will serve as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers to support an unparalleled patient experience.
