About the Residency Program

The Methodist Healthcare Residency Program is a year-long initiative designed to shepherd new graduates through the transition from student nurse to registered nurse. This paid program immerses you in a supportive community of nurse educators, experienced nurses, and fellow residents who promote learning, clinical application, and socialization.\n As a Resident I Graduate Nurse, you will gain hands-on experience in a specialty area (currently Rehab) through a formalized series of learning experiences. These include advanced clinical training, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship with a facility preceptor, skills evaluation via hands-on simulations, mentoring from nurse leaders, and collaboration on an evidence-based practice project. The program equips you with the tools necessary to succeed in today's hospital environment, fostering the clinical and critical thinking skills required to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
