HCA Healthcare has been recognized as one of the World's Most Ethical Companies® by the Ethisphere Institute more than ten times. In recent years, HCA Healthcare spent an estimated $3.7 billion in cost for the delivery of charitable care, uninsured discounts, and other uncompensated expenses. As Dr. Thomas Frist, Sr., HCA Healthcare Co-Founder, stated: "Bricks and mortar do not make a hospital. People do."
The HCA Healthcare Residency Program is a year-long initiative designed to support the transition from student nurse to registered nurse. As a Resident I Graduate Nurse, you will be surrounded by a supportive community of nurse educators, experienced nurses, and fellow residents. This environment promotes learning, clinical application, and socialization, shepherding you through your professional development.
This paid program provides the tools necessary to succeed in today's hospital environment through a formalized series of learning experiences. You will engage in advanced clinical training in a specialty area, attend monthly educational sessions, and participate in preceptorship training with a facility preceptor. The program includes measurement and evaluation of skills through hands-on simulations, mentoring from experienced nurse leaders, and the opportunity to work collaboratively on an evidence-based practice project.
In this role, you will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care consistent with the scope and standards of practice for your state and specialty. Working in collaboration with medical providers and the care team, you will provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models. You will serve as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers to support an unparalleled patient experience.
