About the Residency Program

The Methodist Healthcare Residency Program is a comprehensive, year-long initiative designed to shepherd new graduates through the transition from student nurse to registered nurse. This paid program fosters a supportive community of nurse educators, experienced nurses, and fellow residents to promote learning, clinical application, and socialization. Residents are equipped with advanced clinical training, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship, hands-on simulations, and mentoring from experienced nurse leaders. The program emphasizes working collaboratively on evidence-based practice projects to ensure success in today's hospital environment.

The Role

As an RN Resident, you will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care consistent with state and specialty standards. You will serve as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, utilizing established nursing models to provide individualized, compassionate care. Your day-to-day responsibilities include assessing patient conditions, performing procedures and medication administration, and translating complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding for patients and families. You will strive to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively, ensuring an unparalleled patient experience.
