About the Residency Program

The Methodist Healthcare Residency Program is a year-long initiative designed to shepherd new graduates through the transition from student nurse to registered nurse. This paid program provides a supportive community of nurse educators, experienced nurses, and fellow residents to promote learning, clinical application, and socialization.\n As a Resident I Graduate Nurse, you will be surrounded by mentors and preceptors to help you establish valuable clinical and critical thinking skills. The program includes advanced clinical training in a specialty area, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship training, hands-on simulations, and collaboration on an evidence-based practice project. This structure ensures you have the tools necessary to succeed in today's hospital environment.
