About the Role

As a Mortgage Field Services Inspector, you will serve as the eyes and ears for lenders by verifying property occupancy and reporting on the general condition of residential properties. This role offers a flexible schedule and the opportunity to earn predictable full-time or supplemental income. or supplemental income. Most inspections are exterior-only, taking approximately 5-6 minutes to complete, though about 10% may require interior photos after a property has gone vacant.

What You Will Do

You will utilize a mobile application to report on property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards. The process involves taking 9+ photos of the property with brief comments and completing a short form within the app. Inspections must be completed within 4 days of assignment. The role requires spending extended periods of time driving and making numerous stops during the day within your assigned territory.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have a computer with an internet connection, a reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is preferred as you cover your own fuel costs), and a smartphone compatible with our app (Android or iPhone). A printer is also required. Additionally, you must pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.

Compensation and Schedule

This is a 1099 independent contractor position. You will be paid a flat rate per inspection, with rates varying based on county and volume. While you are paid per inspection, the equivalent hourly earnings range from $20 to $30. Depending on the county and whether it is urban or rural, you will complete between 20 to 500 inspections per month, working 2 to 30 hours per week. Lower volume counties typically, there is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month. You can earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect, have greater availability to inspect, or are willing to cover a larger territory. Please note that there is no additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
