Exchange Engineer
Compensation and Overview
Base Pay Range: $110,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

Convergenz is seeking a dedicated Microsoft Exchange and Tenant Administrator to join our team and provide comprehensive support for Microsoft 365 environments. This role is critical for maintaining the stability, security, and efficiency of our email infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
System Administration and Maintenance
- Maintain, configure, patch, and upgrade on-premise Exchange components, including ESXi hosts, Netscaler load balancers, and virtual Windows servers running Exchange 2019.
- Manage related infrastructure such as Web Application Proxy, Active Directory Federated Servers, Azure AD Connect, EMC SourceOne, and SQL databases.
- Review and analyze Microsoft Exchange enhancements, providing recommendations on their potential impact on the system.
- Manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) regarding system configuration changes, breaches, patch management, and critical security patches.
Operational Support and Monitoring
- Provide daily ticket support for customers, handling incidents and troubleshooting issues. This includes offering screen-share assistance and maintaining detailed ticket journals.
- Address customer requests such as managing retention policies, processing SMTP relay requests, performing mailbox restores, and importing PST files.
- Monitor system logs weekly to identify anomalies and report findings to management.
- Provide after-hours on-call rotation support to monitor system logs and resolve emerging issues.
Security and Compliance
- Review and resolve security vulnerabilities as identified by the Information System Security Officer (ISSO).
- Submit change requests for system modifications and attend Change Control Board meetings as required.
- Track and report mailbox usage data regularly using PowerShell scripting.
Documentation and Collaboration
- Develop and update technical documentation, including operations and maintenance procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and design/configuration documentation.
- Provide subject matter expertise and integration support to system owners, assisting them in connecting applications to the mail system.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science is required. Alternatively, equivalent years of experience may be considered (a BS degree is treated as equivalent to 5 years of experience).
- 3–5 years of experience as an Exchange Administrator, specifically in maintaining, configuring, patching, and upgrading on-premise Exchange components.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in managing ESXi hosts, Netscalers, virtual Windows servers, Exchange 2019, Web Application Proxy, Active Directory Federated Servers, Azure AD Connect, EMC SourceOne, and SQL.
- Strong ability to use PowerShell scripting for tracking and reporting mailbox usage data.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Nice to Have
- MS220 – Troubleshooting Microsoft Exchange Online Certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Work Environment and Schedule
- Location: Remote position.
- On-Call Rotation: Approximately one weekend per month.
