Mental Health Therapist - Grace Medical Center - A.C.T.
Position Overview
LifeBridge Health is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join the team at Grace Medical Center within the A.C.T. program. This community-based role focuses on providing comprehensive outpatient psychiatric and substance use disorder assessments and treatments across various programmatic settings. Approximately 80% of the position involves working directly within the community.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Assessment and Treatment
- Conduct initial and ongoing psychiatric evaluations for patients, including admission interviews to clinical programs.
- Gather complete psychiatric, substance use disorder, and medical health histories to assess patient disability or disturbance levels.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists to formulate diagnostic impressions and provide continuous assessment throughout the treatment course.
- Develop and implement initial treatment plans in partnership with psychiatrists.
- Serve as the primary therapist, delivering direct treatment through individual, group, or family psychotherapy and crisis intervention techniques as clinically necessary.
- Monitor and evaluate medication usage in collaboration with physicians.
- Coordinate patient care with necessary internal and external resources.
Care Coordination and Advocacy
- Assign patients to the appropriate level of care based on their specific needs, in collaboration with psychiatrists.
- Work closely with physicians, specialty clinics, and other social and community agencies.
- Advocate for patients when appropriate and refer them to internal case managers, other treatment facilities, or community resources as indicated.
Documentation and Compliance
- Document all work in accordance with regulating agencies and insurance carrier requirements.
- Maintain and update patient records, ensuring information regarding patient status and progress aligns with departmental policy and peer review standards.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and online submission of clinical information for charge reimbursement in a timely and comprehensive manner.
Education and Supervision
- Educate others on psychiatric and substance abuse issues and treatment methodologies.
- Stay current with trends and developments in the field.
- Provide educational and consultative services to hospital personnel, students, and the broader community.
- Offer clinical supervision to assigned staff.
- Engage in personal development activities to enhance professional skills.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: Master's Degree in Social Work or Clinical Counseling.
- Licensure: Current Maryland license as a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) is required. Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) license is preferred.
- Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Driving: Valid Driver's License in Maryland is required. Approval by the Fleet Safety Department is necessary to operate vehicles owned by LifeBridge Health.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay and Schedule
- Salary: $29.00 - $51.27 per hour, based on experience.
- Sign-On Bonus: Potential bonus of $10,000.00.
- Schedule: Full-time, Day shift (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM).
