The Medical Assistant serves as a vital support to Prisma Community Care health care providers, reporting directly to the Director of Clinic Operations. This role is designed to perform a blend of clinical and administrative tasks within the scope of your certification, ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic.

As a Medical Assistant, you will be a key part of delivering compassionate care to these populations, fostering an environment where every client feels seen and supported.
Your day-to-day work will involve collaborating with healthcare and support staff to manage patient flow, from scheduling and inventory maintenance to processing prescriptions and lab draws. You will play a direct role in patient care by obtaining and recording vital signs, medical histories, and allergies in our Electronic Health Records (EHR) system, performing phlebotomy procedures, and providing essential HIV and STI education to high-risk individuals. Additionally, you will be expected to cross-train in front-office duties to ensure operational flexibility and coverage when needed.
