About the Role

This position serves as a critical link in our forensic consulting practice, providing failure analysis and technical expertise in mechanical engineering. You will investigate the origin and root cause of incidents involving products, heavy equipment, HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, and other mechanical systems. Your work will directly support clients by evaluating injury, equipment, and property damage claims, translating complex technical findings into clear oral and written reports, and providing expert testimony when required.

The Day-to-Day

Your work will span both office environments and active field sites, including accident locations. You will conduct site surveys using advanced tools such as total station surveys, scanners, and drones to document conditions. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to performing mechanical engineering calculations, reviewing codes and standards, and analyzing data logs to determine compliance and failure mechanisms. You will also manage client relationships, preparing scopes of work, budget estimates, and technical proposals while collaborating with internal teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.
