About the Role

The Level B Fleet Mechanic/Technician serves as a journeyman-level professional responsible for the independent diagnosis and repair of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues across refuse trucks, heavy trucks/tractors, trailers, and heavy equipment. This role is pivotal in ensuring high fleet uptime and strict Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance.

In this position, you will not only troubleshoot complex systems but also mentor Level C technicians, guiding them on best practices, safety protocols, and proper repair methods. You will act as a key support resource for road calls and breakdowns throughout the NYC tri-state area, performing safe temporary or permanent repairs to return vehicles to service or coordinating towing as needed. Your work ensures that our fleet operates efficiently and safely in demanding urban environments.
