Highway Transport is a family-owned tanker trucking company with a rich history dating back to 1948. We pride ourselves on a family-orientated culture that values every employee's contributions and actively supports career ambitions. Our mission centers on taking care of our people, ensuring their well-being, and maintaining a fleet that is ready for the road.
As a Mechanic at Highway Transport, you are the diagnostic and service backbone for our drivers and carrier clients. Your primary focus is on quality, safety, and maximizing equipment utilization. You will be relied upon daily to keep our fleet of trucks and trailers in top condition, ensuring they are readily available for operations.
In this role, you will perform preventative maintenance and general repairs on tractors and trailers to strictly comply with company and DOT standards. You will serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, ensuring their needs are met through effective communication regarding all repairs. Beyond technical repairs, you will support inventory control and provide accurate documentation for all parts and labor. You will also assist other technicians, helping to maintain a collaborative environment where the entire team works to keep our equipment roadworthy.
Candidates are expected to possess the necessary personal tools to perform assigned duties, including sockets, air tools, a volt meter, and an acceptable tool chest. The role requires the ability to read, write, and speak English, along with basic troubleshooting skills in electrical, suspension, or HVAC systems depending on the equipment assignment. Experience moving trailers in and out of the shop is considered a plus.
