About the Role

The Manager, Medical Economics is responsible for leading the refinement, operationalization, and stewardship of enterprise healthcare datasets for Medical Economics use cases. This role focuses on transforming foundational enterprise data assets into trusted, business-ready datasets aligned to Medical Economics reporting, analytics, and operational workflows. The curation and enhancement of authorization data assets is an initial priority.

This role partners closely with Enterprise Information Management (EIM), Medical Economics, Reporting, and operational stakeholders to improve data quality, establish sustainable governance practices, and support scalable enterprise data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • check_circleLead refinement and operationalization of enterprise healthcare datasets for Medical Economics use cases
  • check_circleEstablish and maintain business definitions, transformation logic, and validation rules for data assets
  • check_circleIdentify and resolve data quality, consistency, and usability gaps across curated datasets
  • check_circleLead Medical Economics curation efforts for authorization data assets and define business logic
  • check_circleManage and mentor Lead Analysts supporting data curation initiatives and establish team standards
  • check_circleServe as liaison between Medical Economics, EIM, Finance, and operational stakeholders
  • check_circleTranslate business pain points into actionable data improvement opportunities and priorities
  • check_circleSupport governance processes and maintain documentation for business rules and data lineage
  • check_circleCollect, validate, and analyze data to create reports for leadership decision making
  • check_circleCreate reporting for strategic analysis, profitability, financial analysis, and utilization patterns

Requirements

  • verifiedAt least 7 years of health care analytics and/or medical economics experience
  • verifiedAt least 1 year of management/leadership experience
  • verifiedBachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science, health care management or related field
  • verifiedDemonstrated understanding of Medicaid and Medicare programs or other health care plans
  • verifiedFamiliar with relational database concepts
  • verifiedProficiency with retrieving specified information from data sources
  • verifiedExperience with building dashboards in Excel, Power BI, and/or Tableau and data management
  • verifiedKnowledge of health care operations (utilization management, disease management, claims processing, etc.)
  • verifiedKnowledge of health care financial terms (e.g., PMPM, revenue) and different standard code systems (ICD‑10CM, CPT, HCPCS, NDC, etc.)
  • verifiedDemonstrated understanding of key managed care concepts and provider reimbursement principles such as risk adjustment, capitation, FFS, DRG’s, APG’s, APC’s, and other payment mechanisms
  • verifiedUnderstanding of value‑based risk arrangements
  • verifiedExperience in quantifying, measuring, and analyzing financial, operational, and/or utilization metrics in health care
  • verifiedAbility to mine and manage information from large data sources
