This position serves as a critical partner to operations leadership, responsible for implementing and executing the company's environmental management system. The role exists to ensure strict compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations while fostering a culture of environmental stewardship across facilities. You will act as a subject-matter expert, bridging the gap between complex regulatory requirements and daily plant operations.
In this role, you will communicate clear, concise, and consistent messages to hourly and management team members alike. Your day-to-day involves monitoring site performance, analyzing environmental metrics to identify trends, and leading root cause analyses for any incidents. You will serve as a liaison with state and local regulating authorities, manage contractor work, and supervise wastewater operations where applicable. The position requires a proactive approach to risk management, ensuring that potential non-compliance issues are identified early and resolved through collaborative relationships with plant personnel.
Reporting to an Area Environmental Manager, you will also support the development of environmental standards, documentation, and training programs. This role offers the opportunity to shape operational awareness by participating in environmental associations and staying ahead of pending regulatory changes that could impact the business.
To qualify for this position, a resume must be attached to your application. Hourly applicants are required to complete a specific task after submitting their application to provide additional information for consideration. Please note that certain roles at Tyson require background checks; if selected, you will be provided with additional documentation to complete once an offer is extended.
