About the Role
The Part-Time Makerspace Instructor serves as a catalyst for curiosity, guiding K-12 students through hands-on exploration of 3D printing, laser cutting, robotics, and emerging technologies. This position is designed to ignite creativity, sharpen problem-solving skills, and spark a lasting interest in STEM fields.
You will engage with students from diverse age groups and educational backgrounds, fostering an environment where experimentation and innovation thrive. Working closely with Concorde Education's Curriculum Development Team, you will bring a custom-tailored curriculum to life, ensuring lessons are both aligned with educational standards and responsive to the unique needs of each classroom.
The Experience
Your day will be a blend of instruction, technical support, and collaboration. You will lead students through individual and group projects, creating an inclusive space where critical thinking is encouraged. Beyond teaching, you will manage the makerspace ecosystem—operating and maintaining tools like 3D printers, laser cutters, and CNC machines while ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
Success in this role requires more than technical know-how; it demands the ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs and provide constructive feedback that drives student progress. You will also collaborate with school staff to seamlessly integrate makerspace activities into the broader educational program, staying current with the latest trends in technology and pedagogy through ongoing professional development.
