This position places members and patients at the center of every action. The core mission is to develop and sustain productive relationships by actively seeking to understand individual circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs. Success in this role requires building genuine rapport and fostering cooperative partnerships with patients and their families.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will perform duties under the Colorado State Nurse Practice Act. Your day-to-day involves responding quickly to meet patient needs, resolving problems, and ensuring patient safety through strict adherence to quality, safety, and emergency policies. You will work closely with physicians and medical providers to facilitate schedules, room patients, and communicate delays, demonstrating excellence, enthusiasm, and a strong service orientation.
The role encompasses a wide range of clinical and supportive tasks, from administering medications and specialized nursing care to acutely ill patients, to teaching preventive health measures and home care instructions. You will assist with examinations and minor surgeries, maintain accurate medical records, and ensure a safe, therapeutic environment by applying principles of asepsis and infection control. Additionally, you may assist in orienting new employees and coordinating activities for nursing and medical assistants.
Beyond technical skills, you are accountable for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and behaviors necessary to provide superior, culturally sensitive service to members, colleagues, and vendors, aligning with the Kaiser Permanente Service Quality Credo and Mission.
