The LPN Infection Preventionist serves as the designated on-site expert responsible for safeguarding resident health by evaluating care quality and outcomes related to Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAI) and Community Acquired Infections (CAI). This role acts as a vital resource across all departments, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
In this position, you will collect, prepare, and analyze infection data to present actionable recommendations. You will monitor associate compliance with infection control standards, utilizing barriers and prevention measures to maintain a safe environment. A key component of the role involves preparing and delivering education to staff, residents, and families regarding infection prevention.
You will serve as the primary point of contact for monitoring Public Health Advisories from local, state, and federal agencies, including the CDC. As the on-site Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) lead, you will manage COVID-19 prevention and response activities in strict accordance with current CDC recommendations. Additionally, you hold responsibility for the development and accountability of the Antibiotic Stewardship Program, ensuring the facility maintains current knowledge of infection control trends, methodologies, and employee health practices.
This is an onsite role performed within the physical facility; it is not a remote or off-site consultant position. You will be expected to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action, while maintaining professional working relationships with associates and vendors and upholding the confidentiality of all proprietary information.
