About the Role
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer - Application Security Champion (ASC) to embed security deeply into the software development lifecycle across enterprise applications. This role is designed to bridge the gap between development velocity and robust security posture. You will work directly with development teams to ensure secure design, identify and remediate vulnerabilities, and integrate security practices seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines.
The ASC acts as a strategic partner to platform engineering, DevOps, and enterprise security teams. By combining secure software engineering with advanced automation, this position enables development teams to resolve security issues efficiently without compromising delivery speed. A key focus of this role is driving innovation through emerging AI-driven remediation approaches, including agentic AI frameworks, to reduce manual security review workloads and enhance threat modeling.
As a leader in this space, you will guide teams in implementing secure coding practices and architecture principles while contributing to companywide standards for engineering complex, large-scale technology solutions. You will make high-level decisions on technology best practices, influence technology teams to meet deliverables, and serve as a peer mentor to foster a culture of security and excellence.
