As a Lead Agentic Software Engineer, you will apply your skills to solve tangible, high-impact challenges facing our nation. You will work alongside engineers, scientists, and domain specialists who are experts in their fields, contributing to diverse projects in support of government sponsors.
In this role, you will design, build, secure, and operate mission-focused software systems using state-of-the-art agentic and AI-enabled software development techniques. You will move beyond standard development to establish guidance, best practices, and guardrails for responsible AI adoption. Your day will involve shaping system architecture, leading sustained program execution, and responding rapidly to urgent mission needs. You will help mature prototypes into production-grade systems while ensuring security, reliability, and scalability across distributed cloud environments.

Advanced degree in a technical discipline (including but not limited to Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, etc.); Active Top Secret clearance; Proven experience building, deploying, and operating LLM/agent systems (e.g., RAG, tool/function calling, orchestration frameworks) in production, including constrained/classified environments; Strong AI/agent security background, including threat modeling/red-teaming and implementing safety controls (e.g., prompt injection defenses, data loss/exfiltration prevention, least-privilege tool execution, sandboxing/content filtering); Mature evaluation and quality practices for LLMs/agents (e.g., golden sets, regression benchmarking, judge models; hallucination/jailbreak resistance and task success metrics); Platform engineering/DevSecOps expertise: CI/CD delivery platforms, artifact management, and software supply-chain/provenance controls (e.g., SBOMs, signing/attestation/SLSA, policy-as-code); Cloud-native operations depth across Kubernetes and IaC/multi-cloud, with strong observability (tracing/logs/agent telemetry, audit logging/Splunk) and MLOps/model serving (hosting, gatewaying, rate/cost controls, monitoring); Experience supporting mission/operational systems and external integrations (mission partners/vendors), including regulated environments (NIST 800-53/RMF, FedRAMP, DoD ILs) and producing audit-ready evidence/artifacts.
