About the Role

As a Laundry Services Staff member, you play a vital role in maintaining the hygiene and comfort of our facility. Your primary mission is to ensure a steady supply of clean linen for residents while safely managing the handling of soiled items to prevent the spread of pathogens. This position is essential for keeping our laundry operations running smoothly and supporting the overall well-being of those in our care.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Your day will involve collecting soiled linen throughout the facility and processing it through washing, drying, folding, and redistribution. You will also care for residents' personal clothing, strictly adhering to specific garment cleaning instructions and delivering them directly to resident rooms. A key part of your role is maintaining a neat and orderly laundry environment, ensuring a strict separation between clean and dirty linen at all times.

You will be responsible for the basic upkeep of washing and drying machines, performing daily cleaning tasks as recommended by manufacturers to keep equipment in good operating condition. Additionally, you will monitor linen supplies in both front and back closets, promptly notifying the administrator or director of nursing when replacements are needed.

Work Environment

You will work in a well-lit and ventilated laundry room, as well as in general areas of the facility. The role requires physical activity, including standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, and reaching. Success in this position depends on the ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously while remaining mindful of residents in the surrounding areas and collaborating effectively with other team members.
