About the Role
As a Launch Industrial Engineer at General Assembly, you will serve as a critical bridge between design and execution on the shop floor. Your primary mission is to design workstations that are ergonomic and intuitive for operators, ensuring they can produce high-quality vehicles with maximum efficiency. You will collaborate closely with Workstation Designers and Station Designers to create, layout, and optimize workspaces specifically for General Assembly Shops in preparation for new program launches.
This role is pivotal in achieving "vertical launches" for all new programs. You will work hand-in-hand with the WPI (Work Place Integration) team to piece together various aspects of a new program, ensuring a seamless transition from design to production. A key part of your day involves understanding production systems comprehensively and executing man-assignments and line balancing. Your goal is to approach these tasks in a way that minimizes station rearrangements and causes the least possible disruption to existing production systems.
