IT Internal Audit Intern — Sandy, UT at Mountain

About the Role

This position is designed for recent university graduates interested in understanding how IT risk management, governance frameworks, and internal audit practices contribute to a secure credit union environment. The IT Internal Audit Intern will support the Audit Director/Manager and the Internal Audit team in the planning, execution, and documentation of IT audit and advisory engagements.

In this role, you will gain hands-on exposure to evaluating technology risks and assessing the design and effectiveness of IT general controls (ITGCs). You will assist in auditing systems, applications, and cybersecurity processes within a financial institution, focusing on areas such as access management, change management, system operations, data integrity, and information security.

Day in the Life

You will participate in full-cycle audit engagements, from planning to fieldwork. Your daily activities may include meeting with stakeholders to document process walkthroughs, analyzing data, and performing control assessments. You will help ensure key controls are appropriately designed and operating effectively, contributing to risk assessments, issue validation, and audit follow-up activities. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply Global Internal Audit Standards in a real-world setting while supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

Location & Schedule

This is a part-time, in-office position located at the Mountain America Center in Sandy, UT.
