Maximus is seeking a highly skilled ServiceNow Technical Architect / Lead Developer to provide technical leadership and hands-on development across the enterprise ServiceNow platform supporting Aidvantage and the Federal Student Aid portfolio. This role is uniquely positioned for an experienced professional who excels at balancing strategic platform architecture with high-impact, hands-on development.
In this position, you will establish architectural standards, mentor and guide developers, and personally deliver complex, business-critical functionality that enables scalable, high-quality implementations. You will serve as a key technical authority, collaborating closely with stakeholders, clients, and development teams to translate business and ITSM/ITIL requirements into robust ServiceNow solutions. Your work will be critical in maintaining platform health, ensuring upgrade readiness, and driving long-term architectural alignment across ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, SPM, CMDB, and App Engine.
The role combines approximately 75% hands-on development with 25% platform architecture, solution design, and technical governance. As a Lead Developer, you will perform complex JavaScript development, build custom applications using ServiceNow App Engine, and lead the development of high-risk components. Simultaneously, as a Technical Architect, you will own end-to-end platform architecture, define technical standards and design patterns, and serve as the final escalation point for complex platform decisions.
