About the Role
This position offers an experienced Interior Designer the opportunity to lead the development and execution of interior design concepts for institutional and commercial projects, with a strong focus on healthcare and higher education environments. You will collaborate closely with architects and multi-disciplinary teams to integrate interior design seamlessly into overall project goals, balancing functional, aesthetic, and sustainability standards.
The role is ideal for a degreed designer with at least 5 years of experience who brings strong technical skills, creativity, and a collaborative mindset. It is designed for those interested in long-term leadership opportunities within a growing design practice, with a clear pathway to increasing responsibility and potential advancement to an Associate Principal role with financial ownership opportunities.

You will work in a creative, team-centered studio that emphasizes collaboration across all aspects of the design process. The environment supports work on a wide variety of project types, including significant healthcare, academic, cultural, corporate, and government projects, with a particular focus on healthcare and higher education. This is a hybrid position based out of Baltimore, MD, following a schedule of two days working remotely and three days in the office each week.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleDevelop and execute interior design concepts for healthcare and higher education projects

- check_circlePrepare detailed interior drawings, construction documents, and specifications using Revit
- check_circleSelect and coordinate materials, finishes, and furnishings to meet functional and sustainability standards
- check_circleIncorporate sustainability frameworks such as LEED and WELL into design solutions
- check_circleParticipate in schematic design, design development, and documentation phases
- check_circleEnsure constructability, code compliance, and performance of interior design solutions
- check_circleSupport project management activities including coordination with consultants and internal teams
- check_circleMentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative studio culture
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related field
- verifiedAt least 5 years of professional interior design experience
- verifiedProven experience in healthcare and/or higher education projects
- verifiedStrong technical proficiency in Revit
- verifiedExperience preparing construction documents, drawings, and specifications
- verifiedProficiency in AutoCAD (preferred)
- verifiedExperience with Adobe Creative Suite
- verifiedFamiliarity with sustainability frameworks such as LEED and WELL
Nice to Have
Experience in higher education or healthcare design, proficiency in AutoCAD, experience with Adobe Creative Suite and other design and visualization tools, experience in interior architecture and schematic design, interest in or familiarity with sustainability frameworks such as LEED and WELL, passion for designing environments for healthcare or higher education clients, motivation to grow into leadership roles including potential advancement to Associate Principal with equity participation.
