The Department of Information Technology (DoIT) Office of Security Management (OSM) is dedicated to coordinating the adoption and implementation of centrally provided cybersecurity services across various agencies. Our mission is to ensure that cybersecurity solutions are effectively aligned with the unique objectives of each agency while adhering to the Cybersecurity Framework (CSF). We foster a collaborative environment where the Information Security Officer (ISO) serves as the primary point of contact, bridging the gap between DoIT managed services and the specific needs of federal, state, and local government entities.
The Information Security Officer (ISO) plays an active, embedded role within assigned agencies, acting as the central liaison for all cybersecurity matters. This position is designed to integrate DoIT managed services while providing tailored consultation to meet mission-critical needs. You will regularly assess and address cybersecurity requirements, develop risk management strategies, support incident response efforts, and maintain robust security awareness programs.
In this capacity, you will serve as the primary point of contact for agency-related inquiries, ensuring that security protocols are seamlessly integrated into daily operations. You will work closely with the ISO Program Director and Coordinator to maintain consistent alignment with DoIT's overarching cybersecurity goals, policies, and procedures. The role requires reaching back to DoIT to answer questions and gather consensus on strategic direction, ensuring that service delivery plans and roadmaps are both effective and responsive to evolving threats.
Candidates selected for this role will be expected to travel as needed to fulfill their duties. This includes visiting the Maryland Department of Information Technology (DoIT) office located in Crownsville, MD, as well as traveling to various agencies within the Baltimore/Annapolis region to support on-site assessments and engagements.
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, ensuring that our team reflects the communities we serve.
