Modern Machinery is seeking highly motivated, self-directed Journey-Level Heavy Equipment Field Service Technicians to join our team immediately. This role is designed for candidates well-established in the heavy equipment repair and maintenance industry who are ready to take ownership of their work in a dynamic, field-based environment.
As a Field Service Technician, you will serve as the frontline representative of Modern Machinery's mission and vision. Your primary focus will be independently troubleshooting and repairing complex systems—including electrical, hydraulic, A/C, and power train components—on Komatsu and other affiliated product lines. You will operate equipment to diagnose failures, interpret intricate schematics, and determine the necessary corrective actions to ensure customer satisfaction.
The day-to-day life of this role involves a variety of environments, from customer sites to the shop floor. You will manage your own field service truck, ensuring it remains clean and properly maintained, while handling all paperwork, time entry, and work order reports daily. Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to communicate effectively with customers regarding repair plans and status updates, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively with other technicians on large projects.
At Modern Machinery, customer satisfaction is our top priority. We foster a culture where reliability, honesty, and a strong work ethic are essential. We are committed to safety, adhering to all company policies and regulations to achieve our safety goals while respecting additional customer requirements on-site. We value our team members and support their well-being through a comprehensive benefits package and a supportive work environment.
Modern Machinery is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
Candidates must have a valid driver's license and the ability to maintain an insurable driving record. This is a safety-sensitive position subject to pre-employment testing, including cannabis testing. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
To apply, please submit your resume highlighting your experience with heavy equipment repair and field service operations. We look forward to reviewing your qualifications.
