McLeod Regional Medical Center (MRMC) is a 517-bed nonprofit healthcare system in Florence, SC, serving as the principal provider of advanced and general gastroenterology services for a region spanning from the Midlands to the coast of North and South Carolina. The GI program is a long-established, physician-led practice supported by the largest Endo lab in the region, featuring dedicated anesthesia and CRNA providers in both the endoscopy lab and the operating room. This position offers a unique opportunity to focus exclusively on inpatient care within an established GI program. The Gastroenterologist will work a 7-on/7-off schedule, covering inpatient services and ER consults every other week from Monday to Monday. The role involves 10 hours of on-site inpatient services daily, complemented by 14 hours of unrestricted call coverage each day. The team is supported by eight Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) available 7 days a week, with APPs taking first call and locum coverage provided for the majority of weekends and holidays.
