Tidelands Health, a clinical collaborator of MUSC Health, is the largest regional health care provider in the Myrtle Beach area. As an independent, not-for-profit community health system, we are driven by a mission to reinvest in community well-being, delivering over $60 million in community benefit annually. Our organization is led by a local, volunteer board of trustees that is nearly 30% comprised of physicians, ensuring a dyad physician/administrative leadership model that values medical expertise.
We are an inclusive environment where diversity is championed and different perspectives are celebrated in the pursuit of health equity. Our commitment to excellence has been recognized as one of the nation's Top 150 places to work in health care by Becker's Hospital Review, and our endoscopy unit is honored by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy's Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program.
We are seeking board-certified or board-eligible gastroenterologists to join an established, employed practice serving the Myrtle Beach region, recognized as the nation's fastest-growing area. With a projected population increase of 275,000 residents by 2040, there is a significant need for additional physicians to support our community's health. This role offers a full-time inpatient and outpatient practice opportunity driven by volume growth, allowing you to fully utilize your skills and training in a progressive environment.
You will join a well-respected group consisting of five gastroenterologists and six advanced practice providers, supported by two acute-care hospitals and three outpatient practices. The position offers a balanced schedule of three weeks of outpatient and one week of inpatient care monthly, with a call schedule of 1:5 (future 1:6). You will have access to full specialty support for referrals, including a unique tertiary relationship with MUSC Health, South Carolina's academic medical center.
This opportunity is designed for those seeking professional and personal fulfillment in a region that offers an exceptional quality of life. Myrtle Beach is ranked as one of the Top 20 places to live in the United States by US News & World Report, featuring 60 miles of pristine beaches, marshes, and rivers. The area is known as the "Golf Capital of the World" with over 90 golf courses, nearly 2,000 restaurants, and an international airport providing non-stop flights to more than 50 destinations. Located just 90 minutes from Charleston, the region boasts a cost of living below the national average, highly rated schools, and an average of 215 days of sunshine annually.
