Job Description

About ProAutomated

ProAutomated is a smaller, people-first company that partners with system integrators and manufacturers to ensure automation systems work flawlessly. We do not install systems ourselves; instead, we provide critical support to keep automation projects moving forward. Our culture is built on teamwork, adaptability, and humor, with leaders who have grown into their positions from within the company. We hold each other to high standards, accept that none of us are perfect, and push for excellence while ensuring every person feels supported by the team.

The Role

This position is designed for those who prefer being on the move rather than behind a desk. As a Field Service Engineer, you will tackle unique projects across North America, working directly with customers in diverse environments such as data centers, warehouse fulfillment centers, and manufacturing facilities in industries like food and beverage. You will be part of the team responsible for performing on-site mechanical, electrical, and control checks, as well as leading startup, checkout, and acceptance testing. This role offers the opportunity to gain invaluable real-world experience with massive companies while being supported by the ProAutomated team.

Work Style and Travel

You will experience new cities and environments as part of your daily work. There is no office to report to, and you will be away from home while working. Typical travel rotations follow a days on & off schedule, such as 5 on - 2 off, 10 on – 4 off, or 14 on – 7 off. Every project brings new challenges and new locations. We handle the logistics of your travel, allowing you to focus on the work and the experience. You will need a personal vehicle for local projects within 45 days of employment and must live within 50 miles of a major airport.

Physical Requirements

This role involves essential physical functions, including the ability to walk long distances across large facilities or job sites, climb ladders and stairs, and work at heights. You must be prepared to lift and carry equipment as part of your daily activities.
