Join a not-for-profit organization with over 100 years of history providing housing and services to seniors. Our mission is rooted in a commitment to quality care and service within a Christian environment.
As an Environmental Services Technician at the GSS SD Canistota Center, you play a vital role in maintaining a safe, sanitary, and sterile environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. You will be the guardian of health standards across patient rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and other facility areas.
Your day involves applying housekeeping processes and techniques specific to a healthcare setting. You will manage waste disposal, floor care (sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing), and the maintenance of cleaning equipment. Beyond physical cleaning, you will ensure storage areas and carts are well-stocked and tidy, and you may assist in laundry operations. You will utilize pagers and other technology to respond to needs as they arise.
This role requires physical stamina, as you will be on your feet for the majority of your shift. You will be responsible for lifting and moving items up to 40-50 lbs, as well as operating powered scrubbing and waxing machines. Work hours may vary to meet resident needs, potentially including overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.
