Match Charter Public School is a free, high-performing charter public school in Boston serving PreK-12 students. Our mission is to prepare students—particularly multilingual learners and first-generation college students—for success in college and careers to achieve economic security and mobility. Students gain acceptance via an annual blind public lottery open to all Boston residents.
Our school community reflects amazing racial and cultural diversity, with families representing over 20 countries of origin and speaking more than 20 different languages at home. 98% of our students are people of color. We are prepared to serve a diverse range of needs, with 23% of students qualifying for special education services and 19% identified as English Language Learners.
Our core values are Equity, Freedom, Teamwork, Innovation, and Accountability. We are actively reframing our organizational processes and policies to be truly anti-racist. We believe that a staff diverse by race and other factors, a professional environment inclusive of all perspectives, and a culturally competent curriculum are vital to achieving our mission.
We are seeking an Elementary School English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher to join our team in Hyde Park, MA. At Match, we refer to our ESL teachers as Language Acquisition Teachers (LATs). LATs perform the essential work of teaching language and supporting our multilingual students.
In this role, you will provide instruction to students requiring an English language development course of study. You will report to the Network Director of Language Acquisition and serve as a positive, collaborative member of the Match community. The position is based at our elementary school in Hyde Park, with a start date in August 2026.
Qualified applicants must have a valid ESL license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education by the date of hire. We are only able to consider applicants who have current US work authorization.
Research shows that people of color and women are less likely to apply if they feel they do not meet every qualification listed. Our highest priority is finding the best candidate for the job. We strongly encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every one of our qualifications or have a less traditional background.
