Founded in 2001, Mastery Schools is a public charter network of 23 K-12 schools in Philadelphia and Camden, serving more than 14,000 students. Our mission is to provide all students with the academic and personal skills they need to succeed after graduation and pursue their dreams. Student achievement is not just a goal for our organization; it is the reason we exist. We are committed to pursuing equity, actively disrupting systemic racism, and addressing the disparities that limit our students' choices.
Our culture is built on respect, service, and the belief that the success of our students, their families, and the communities we serve will help us achieve our mission. We foster a positive, open, and inclusive environment where honesty, humor, and continuous improvement are celebrated. Together, we are creating a model urban school district that serves all students with excellence.
In a world where math unlocks a future of possibilities, the Math Teacher role at Mastery is dedicated to fostering a love of math while growing in your craft. From the moment students enter our buildings, they engage with the cutting-edge, open-source Eureka Math Curriculum to develop strong mathematical fluency. Our 3-5 Math Program utilizes this curriculum to help students explore mathematical concepts and develop understanding through challenging problems and facilitated discussions.
As a Math Teacher, you will set high expectations and provide high support so that all students can succeed. You will work alongside Specialized Services and School Culture teams to ensure students receive the help they need to thrive. We value continuous improvement and provide a team of Assistant Principals, central-office coaches, and school-based content teams to offer coaching and feedback. Professional development and peer collaboration time are built into the staff calendar, and you will receive annual professional development and a dedicated allowance to further your growth.
Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they can perform every task listed in a job description. We are most interested in finding the best candidate for the job, and that candidate may come from a less traditional background. Mastery may consider an equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, education, and experience to meet minimum qualifications. If you are interested in applying, we encourage you to think broadly about your background and skill set for the role.
Mastery Schools is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment where all employees are treated with dignity and respect.
