About the Role
As a Driver Trainee, you will embark on a comprehensive training program designed to equip you with the skills to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). This role is your gateway to a career as a Driver within one of our diverse lines of business, including Residential, Commercial, Industrial, or Roll-Off services.
During your training, you will receive classroom instruction, on-route experience, and the resources necessary to pass the state CDL examination, including the loan of a truck. Once you successfully complete the program and obtain your CDL, you will transition into a Driver position. In this capacity, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy commercial trucks, performing pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections, and managing waste collection and disposal in accordance with our rigorous safety policies. You will serve as a vital link in our local operations, ensuring our customers receive reliable service while we work to exceed their sustainability expectations.
Hiring Process
Candidates selected for this position will undergo a structured training program. Upon successful completion of the training and obtaining the CDL, you will be required to complete twelve (12) full months of employment with Republic Services. The program is designed to provide the necessary experience and support to ensure your success as a professional driver.
