Sierra Health and Wellness uses evidence-based methods to accomplish the restoration of families, relationships, and self-worth. By transforming character, the organization gives life back to individuals who have lost it through substance abuse and mental health issues. The mission is deeply rooted in creating a supportive environment where healing and personal growth can flourish.
The Director of Nursing serves as the strategic leader for nursing services and medical support staff across our facilities. This role exists to ensure that every patient receives care that is not only clinically excellent but also deeply aligned with our mission of restoration. You will oversee daily medical operations, ensuring all nursing care adheres to physician orders, facility policies, and rigorous standards set by the Joint Commission and the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS).
In this position, you will bridge the gap between clinical execution and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for the full spectrum of nursing operations, from medication management and documentation audits to the development of corrective action plans for identified deficiencies. Beyond oversight, you will actively coach staff on clinical expectations and patient care practices, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth. You will also serve as a key liaison with the Medical Director, physicians, and regulatory agencies, communicating critical updates and ensuring a positive, supportive workplace culture.
Candidates selected for this role will be required to successfully pass fingerprinting, a criminal background check, and any additional clearances mandated by DHCS, DSS, or funding agencies. A valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record is also required to facilitate moderate travel between facilities for external trainings and meetings.
Sierra Health and Wellness is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, ensuring that our workforce reflects the communities we serve.
