The Department of Population Health Sciences (PHS) at the University of Utah Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine, in collaboration with the Digital Health Initiative (DHI), serves as a hub for education, investigation, and methodological expertise in population health. Our faculty are diverse and form three divisions: Cancer Population Sciences, Biostatistics, and Health Systems Innovation & Research. We are seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor to expand our strength in digital health. This role is designed for a collaborative colleague with a strong record or potential for independent scholarship who values team science. The successful candidate will develop independent, extramurally-funded research programs, collaborate with colleagues across campus, and train and mentor graduate students.
You will have exceptional opportunities to conduct cutting-edge research in close partnership with healthcare systems (e.g., University of Utah, FQHCs) and community-based agencies in Salt Lake City, Utah, and the Intermountain West. Research in design, development, evaluation, methods, and theory surrounding digital health interventions will be considered. We are particularly interested in scholarship that advances methodologies or demonstrates innovative interventions designed to improve community health, such as the use of serious games, apps, XR interventions, texting apps, conversational agents, and EHR integration.
