Whether you are looking for a full-time career or a part-time side hustle, you can decide when to log in to the Uber Eats Driver app. You might choose to work during peak lunch or dinner rushes, late-night hours, or weekends when delivery demand is highest. There is no minimum hour requirement; you have the autonomy to control your earnings and your time.
What You Will Do
As an independent contractor, you will use your personal vehicle, bike, or scooter to pick up food orders from local restaurants and deliver them to customers. Your day-to-day involves using the Uber Eats Driver app to accept delivery requests, navigate to restaurants, pick up food orders, and deliver orders to customers. You are responsible for following delivery instructions, communicating through the app when needed, and ensuring orders are delivered in a timely manner.
Requirements to Get Started
To join the team, you must be an independent contractor and provide your own vehicle, driver’s license, insurance, and smartphone to use the Uber Eats Driver app. You are expected to follow traffic laws, food handling guidelines, and delivery procedures while working. A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable mode of transportation are essential for navigating to restaurants and delivering orders efficiently.
Compensation
Drivers typically earn between $15 to $25 per hour on average, including base pay, promotions, and customer tips. Earnings can be higher during peak meal times and busy delivery periods, and busy delivery periods. This compensation structure rewards drivers for their efficiency and availability during high-demand times.
