Community Impact is a Texas-based local news and advertising company trusted for delivering meaningful work and local information to millions. We reach 2 million mailboxes through monthly print editions, daily newsletters, and a fast-growing digital platform. Our data team is small, busy, and increasingly central to how the business grows. We are investing heavily in AI-driven analytics, attribution, and client-facing data products, and we are hiring an intern to grow alongside this pivotal work.
This is an analyst-first internship designed as a learning role. You will spend most of your time turning data into answers for clients, sales and marketing teams, and internal product decisions. You will pitch in on the data, AI, and solutions work that comes up day-to-day, treating AI as a core part of how we work rather than a side experiment. We will meet you where you are on the technical side and help you grow into the rest.
You will analyze client performance data, including attribution, campaign outcomes, and audience reach. You will build and maintain internal dashboards for sales, editorial, and leadership, focusing on reporting principles like clarity, hierarchy, and decision-usefulness. Additionally, you will design AI-assisted data workflows, handling prompts, scenarios, and output evaluation, while conducting ad-hoc investigations and data-quality reviews alongside our platform team.
We value curiosity and the ability to learn quickly. Class projects, personal projects, and self-taught work all count toward your application. We are looking for someone who reads the story behind a number and comes back with ideas, not just observations. If you are comfortable using AI agents as a system or have experience with data visualization tools, that is a bonus, but a genuine interest in learning how real production systems work is essential.
Community Impact has a target start date of June 2026. This is a hybrid position with three days per week at the Innovation Center in Pflugerville, TX, with flexibility around school schedules. Interns will work 20-30 hours per week for 10-12 weeks (open to summer-only or summer-through-fall). Applicants must be enrolled in college working toward their degree or may have graduated within six months of the internship start date.
Community Impact (JG Media, Inc.) is a registered Texas data broker. Team members complete a brief data-handling onboarding and sign a standard confidentiality acknowledgment before access is provisioned. We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.
