About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Cytotechnologist to join our laboratory team in Rocky Hill, CT. In this role, you will play a critical part in patient care by microscopically examining and diagnosing gynecologic and non-gynecologic slides to identify infectious, pre-malignant, and malignant disease processes. Your work ensures the integrity of specimen identification and the accuracy of results reported to the laboratory information system.
You will operate within a structured environment adhering to strict CLIA, CAP, and HIPAA regulations. A key aspect of your day involves maintaining meticulous documentation of interpretations and participating in annual proficiency-testing programs to uphold the highest standards of laboratory quality.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleMicroscopically examine and diagnose gynecologic and non-gynecologic slides for disease processes
- check_circleDocument interpretations including total slides screened and hours spent screening as required by CLIA
- check_circleMaintain specimen integrity and patient identification for all samples examined
- check_circleEnter and report test results into the laboratory information system
- check_circleMaintain confidentiality of patient test results in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- check_circleParticipate in a CMS approved proficiency-testing program annually
- check_circleComply with all local, federal, CLIA, and CAP regulations
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in clinical lab, physical, or biological science
- verifiedMeet CLIA requirements (CFR. 493. 1483)
- verifiedMeet ASCP requirements for Cytotechnologist
- verifiedMeet state licensure requirements, if applicable
