About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a School Custodian within the Byron Center Public School District. This is a hands-on role where you will serve our public school customers by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. You will be on your feet, moving, and cleaning alongside your team members, ensuring that all areas of the school are vacuumed, mopped, dusted, and sanitized. Your responsibilities include cleaning restrooms, removing trash, and securing the building by completing perimeter door pulls.
For those in supervisor positions, the role expands to include leadership duties such as training new team members, leading the team, managing operations, and holding the team accountable. You will also follow up on customer concerns and walk the building to ensure quality standards are upheld. This position requires reliable transportation to and from work, as you may need to travel using your own vehicle with mileage reimbursement and paid drive time throughout the school district.
