You will join the Advance Practice Provider Anesthesiology department at OU Health, where the mission is to deliver safe, quality, age-appropriate anesthesia care. As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) in Same Day Surgery, you will provide comprehensive anesthesia care, from pre-anesthetic evaluations and obtaining informed consent to induction, maintenance, emergence, and post-anesthesia care. You will administer anesthesia and monitor patients during surgeries and other medical procedures, ensuring adherence to established clinical privileges approved by the Chairman of the Anesthesia Department.
Your day will involve consulting on airway management and participating in codes at the direction of a supervising anesthesiologist. Beyond direct patient care, you will provide supportive assistance to residents and students on anesthesia rotations, helping to foster a learning environment for the next generation of healthcare professionals. You will work as an equal member of an inter-professional care team, coordinating care, delegating appropriately, and integrating evidence-based best practices to ensure patient safety.
Candidates must be graduates of an AANA-accredited nurse anesthesia education program and have successfully passed the national certifying examination. The role requires an active RN and APRN license in the State of Oklahoma with prescriptive authority, NBCRNA certification, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required within 90 days of hire.
